NFTs Are Not DEAD – Except for my new Dead Pixel Ghosts from the Hedera Ecosystem
Author: Anier – anier.com
This is the story of when I finally decided to invest in a WEB3 ecosystem project and buy my first NFT with Hedera‘s HBAR.
NFT in simple terms: An NFT (Non-Fungible Token) is like a unique digital certificate of ownership for a digital item.
What is Hedera and HBAR?
– Hedera is a fast, secure, and sustainable blockchain platform. HBAR is its native cryptocurrency, used for fees and securing the network. It’s backed by major tech companies.
How it Happened
I just started heavily investing in crypto this 2024/2025 bull market and found the crypto: $HBAR. After doing lots of research, my investor senses told me that it was a great opportunity and I decided to buy in. As you may know, the crypto industry is mostly active on X. And this is where I’ve found myself ( x.com/entrepranier ) doing most of my research. It’s also where I was randomly scrolling one day and found a post about the Dead Pixel Ghost Club Community. – https://www.deadpixels.club/
I immediately felt fond of the designs. I’m not sure if it was the friendly vibe they gave off or because they reminded me of a game I used to play back in the day – Maplestory. Regardless, I was intrigued and thought the project was super cool.
How did I buy my first Dead Pixel Ghost?
After doing a little bit of research and browsing their marketplace – https://sentx.io/nft-marketplace/dead-pixels-ghost-club I decided to buy my first one. To buy the ghost, I transferred HBAR from my Coinbase Exchange to my HBAR wallet – Hashpack. I then connected it to the marketplace app. This allowed me to use my HBAR in exchange for a dead pixel ghost.
The whole process was very efficient, the transactions were fast and the fees were low. Very different from transacting on the Ethereum network, where I have had to pay ridiculous amounts in gas fees. HBAR was already looking and feeling promising.
What transpired after I bought it?
Following my transaction, I was now the owner of an NFT in the Hedera ecosystem. I finally pulled the trigger and it honestly felt good. I truly feel that crypto is the future, it has given me a lot of opportunities (profit$) and I felt like it was time to get more involved and in a way, give back. I was excited so I shared my new acquisition on X. I made a post in which I showed my new dead pixel ghost and I tagged the project’s main account on the platform. The response? The Dead Ghost Pixel Community is Awesome
Right after I made the post on X, I truly felt the vibrance of the community shining through their reactions, welcoming comments, and engagement. It feels cool to join a decentralized ecosystem community. Feeling like I made a great choice, I quickly joined the discord and started diving deeper into the ghost market, learning about the traits that make some ghosts rarer than others, how to navigate the marketplace, and more. The ghosts are super cool. Each ghost is 1 of 1, each having unique attributes. You can use them as your profile picture, and even create your very own lore for each one of your dead pixel ghosts. Check out some of the ghost stories created by their owners: https://www.deadpixels.club/ghost-stories
Furthermore, at the end of the day, I’m investing in a project that could someday rise in value, has a growing community, and gives me a foot in the door to a creative and fun WEB 3 ecosystem. There are only 10k total ghosts and each one is valuable in its own way. I don’t plan on selling mine any time soon.
I ended up buying 3 Dead Pixel Ghosts
I enjoyed this newfound ecosystem so much that I decided to buy two more ghosts, making me the owner of 3 Dead Pixel Ghosts. I plan on creating my very own stories for each ghost and hopefully having them published on their official website. I look forward to continue exploring Web 3.0 and the Hedera ecosystem as a member of the Dead Ghost Pixel Club and I’m excited for future events!
A little bit about my ghosts:
Ghost #6312 – The Cuban Cowboy – This was my first ghost and I don’t think I’ll ever sell it as it’s also my first ever NFT and it signifies my involvement in Web 3.0 It reminds me of a Cuban Cowboy (Cuban cowboys had machetes, not guns) – story loading…
Ghost #5051 – Tobi Phantom – I was lucky enough to get my hands on a “phantom” ghost. They call them the phantom ghosts because they have the translucency trait and since the background is dark, it gives them a dark effect, making them look significantly different than other ghosts. To top it off, it has the colorful prism hat which is also sought after. A very cool ghost overall. – Lore loading…
Ghost #1089 – The Money Viking – The Money Viking, a Greenlander Viking on his way to Valhalla! I liked the overall look of this one and decided to buy it at a reasonable price. Although it was the least expensive out of the three, I feel like it’s a lucky charm with the green look and translucency, giving it a green body.
Thank you for reading, until next time!
best wishes,
